ABOUT US
Welcome to Christ the King Preparatory Academy (CTKPA) a newer established school. We seek to encourage children to reach their highest potential while instilling a love for learning. We know in this day, society has been faced with many challenges that we ourselves, our parents and grandparents never faced. As times are changing and becoming more difficult, we provide a warm, nurturing and safe place for our children while they receive their education. We promote respect for ourselves, all others and property.
We believe that the work level during school should be maximized with minimal homework presented allowing children to play and relax at home during the elementary years. We know how fast these years will go. Middle and high school students receive an increase in homework as they are preparing for graduation and/or college enrollment. We know this is subject to change due to the pandemic.
Your child will be presented with an excellent education utilizing award winning curriculums to meet individual needs. The curriculums are embedded with reading materials rich in culture and adventure. Each area of education will utilize reading skills while providing the required information that they need. Our goal is to provide your child with the success that is often seen with children who are home schooled, although they are placed in a private school. Along with the curriculums, New York State standards will be followed, however, we do not participate in state testing.
It is our philosophy to go “back to the basics” of education in reading, writing and arithmetic. Somewhere along the way something has changed and we would like to regain basic skill levels. Your child will be challenged to learn the way that is best for him/her. We stand on the premise that every child is unique and acquires information differently. We believe that small classrooms containing 12-15 students should be the maximum number of pupils (this is reduced to 6-8 students during the pandemic). This allows teachers the ability to assess each student’s strengths and weaknesses individually.
Most importantly, we instill a Christ centered curriculum throughout the school day. We begin each day in prayer along with the pledge of allegiance. We believe the bible says to “train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it” (Prov. 22-6).
Teaching of the Word of God is also included during daily bible time. This will be to promote Godly character, integrity, morals and ethical values as we prepare our future generation.
